The Space Voyagers - Changes

Story synopsis;

Date September 27th 2163. The USS Essex has spent the last year being upgraded and re-designated as a heavy cruiser. The ship received additional weapons mounts and system upgrades including a new star drive system called a "Spatial Compression Drive". It has been nicknamed "Aurora Drive" due to the glowing field it creates which surrounds the ship.

As the ship and crew finish the overhaul Captain Hunt is summoned to the Commander Fleet Operations office. There he is assigned as Commodore of a task force consisting of Essex and another heavy cruiser, one destroyer and one strike carrier. The task force is to investigate the apparent attack and disappearance of science vessel over 3200 light years away from earth. That ship was equipped with the new star drive and that technology must not fall into the wrong hands. Is there war on the horizon? Could those that attacked the science vessel be the same race that attacked the Star Republic some sixteen years ago?

In the process of preparing for the mission Master Chief Dover must confront the Captain. Slapping him back to reality as only COB can do. There is a need to make changes in key personnel so the mission will succeed as lives hang in the balance. What will happen? Watch and find out.
