Fusion reactor test conducted at the Hiroshima test facility 200 miles south of Tranquility colony. Sustained reaction maintained for over one hour.

Second manned mission to Mars begins.

07/13/2033

First fusion reactor goes online on Earth 100 miles south of Phoenix, Arizona. Power generated is equal to one half of planetary demand.

Mars colony is established.

Second fusion reactor goes online on Earth 50 miles north of Lake Baikal, Russia near Mongolian Border. Power generated is equal to more than half planetary demand. Both fusion reactors help to resolve planet wide energy crisis that began in 2015.

Battle group assigned to Wolf 359 attacked by unknown forces consisting of one carrier, three cruisers and two destroyers. USS Coral Sea (CV-21) destroyed, 456 of 500 crew lost. USS Valiant (CG-52) destroyed, 345 of 400 crew lost. USS Zephyr (DD-25) heavy damage, 129 of 300 crew lost. Enemy forces begin landing troops at Wolf 359 colony which has no garrison.

USS Yorktown (CV-18), USS Farragut (CG-27), USS Dalton (CG-20), USS Saturn (DD-09) heading to Alpha Centauri engage an enemy task force consisting of one carrier, three cruisers, two destroyers and four troop transports heading towards Alpha Centauri. All three cruisers are destroyed. The carrier and two destroyers are heavily damaged and withdraw. The four troop transports escape.

USS Bon Homme Richard (CV-15), USS Jackson (CG-25), USS Halsey (CG-21), USS Neptune (DD-10) and USS Zephyr (DD-12) engage unknown enemy forces at Wolf 359. The enemy carrier, two cruisers, and four troop transports, are destroyed. One cruiser and one destroyer are heavily damaged and withdraw. The landing force consisting of USS Hamilton (LV-2), USS Denver (LPD-6), USS Venture (LSD-12), and USS Noble (LSD-10) land 26000 Solar Marines on Wolf 359 colony.

The Solar Marines destroy the last of the enemy invasion force on Wolf 359. During the enemy invasion and brief occupation 1,456,101 of 15,623,000 colonists killed, and 3,739,200 are injured.

No further engagements are made with unknown enemy forces.

Captain Hunt of the USS Essex (CG-54) completes the first steps to establishing formal diplomatic relations with our first alien species. Commander McGroin is assigned to Catarrha to establish our embassy and await the arrival of Ambassador Dunn and the diplomatic delegation from the Star Republic. Commander McGroin requests a transfer to Catarrha as a military liaison for the embassy. Mission log available here.

USS Essex (CG-54) is assigned to conduct a survey mission to the Lalande system 4 light years from Wolf 359.

08/21/2162 USS Ticonderoga (DD-31) launched. First warp five destroyer.
08/29/2162 USS Ticonderoga (DD-31) assigned to Wolf 359 DESRON.

09/02/2162

USS Essex (CG-54) completes a survey of Lalande system. The Captain grants liberty on the second planet in the system. Mission log available here.

USS Essex (CG-54) returns to Wolf 359 from survey mission escorting civilians who violated the Lalande system restricted space order.

09/30/2162

USS Essex (CG-54) enters overhaul. Complete system upgrade, adding new star drive. Upgrade of weapons systems and re-classification of ship class to Heavy Cruiser. Overhaul scheduled for completion September 2163.
